Who we are…

The Veterans Education and Research Association of Northern New England, Inc. (VERANNE) is dedicated to supporting research and education programs that benefit current and retired members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Projects include clinical trials of new drug treatments, laboratory studies of chronic and infectious diseases, continuing education for Veterans Administration Medical Center staff, and hands-on Veteran education in therapeutic sports and arts.

VERANNE is a proud participant in the Northern New England Research Consortium (NNERC), joining the four most rural facilities in VISN 1, VA Maine Health Care System (VAMHCS), Manchester VAMC New Hampshire, Central Western Massachusetts (CWM), White River Junction VAMC, Vermont. NNERC was designed with rural Veterans in mind.

Our focus is to grow research in the more rural areas to allow our Veterans greater access to state of the art care that can be provided on research protocols. Together we have applied for and implemented research projects that will help our Veteran population participate in the latest advances in care and stay close to home.

VERANNE was established in 1989 and is registered in the state of Vermont as a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. It is part of a network of VA Non-Profit Corporations enabled under PL 100-322, which was passed in 1988 to provide a more efficient mechanism for private and non-VA public funding of VA research and education.

We are proud to serve those who have sacrificed so much for our country.
